Apple Ignites Freedom

by | Jun 30, 2016

The bar was dim, as is the usual characteristic of the bars that specialize in the selling of vulnerable women. Girls paraded around in clothing that barely concealed their bodies, in much the same way their glossy smiles barely concealed the desperation in their eyes. They laughed convincingly while men grabbed at them, but Kristy Alexander was not fooled by the low lighting or the smoke screens their laughter put up. The desperation was too palpable to ignore.

What’s your name?” Kristy asked her.

Apple,” she said.

They smiled at each other. A friendship had just been struck.

You may have seen the Apple Rose Beauty table at some of our warehouse events. You may have even sampled or purchased their spa quality natural and organic skincare products. But did you know the story behind this amazing company or it’s founder, Kristy?

At the peak of her successful, fast-track, decade-long career in engineering, business and management, Kristy felt like something was missing. She was living the American dream but couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something else she was supposed to be doing. Through a variety of circumstances, she heard about The World Race – an 11 month mission trip to 11 countries. She felt so drawn to this opportunity that she left her job, sold her home and embarked on this mission to work with some of the most marginalized communities in Central America, Asia and Africa.

She did hard construction at a women’s shelter in Honduras, worked with children in garbage dumps in Nicaragua, kissed the cheeks of disabled children in Guatemala, loved on the abandoned elderly in Costa Rica, taught English to poor children in Cambodia, fed children in the slums of The Philippines, taught orphans in Swaziland to dream big and befriended those caught in sex trafficking in Thailand and The Philippines. It was her work with survivors of human trafficking in Asia that changed the course of her life.

It was during this time, while she lived with and taught English to survivors, that she met Apple and Rose; two women caught in the horrible cycle of sexual exploitation. These women were no longer statistics. They became her sisters. Her heart was broken for the cause of human trafficking and she knew she would spend the rest of her life helping to bring freedom and opportunity in this area.

When she returned to the United States, she founded Apple Rose Beauty — a premium skincare company that would provide employment opportunities for human trafficking survivors as well as donate to organizations, like Rethreaded, that are involved in their rescue or rehabilitation.

If you have tried the Apple Rose Beauty products, you know the quality and effectiveness this company stands for.  Kristy has combined her knowledge of natural skincare remedies, gained through years of mixing products for herself with information she amassed from chemists and green beauty manufacturers to create a wonderful, premium skincare line.

Apple Rose Beauty has collections for all skin types. Their products are made with natural, certified organic and wildcrafted ingredients. They are jam packed with essential oils and many of you have gushed to us about how they’ve helped your or your kids’ acne or helped with signs of aging.

On July 7th, 2016, Apple Rose Beauty will celebrate its 1 year anniversary! Rethreaded has been part of their story since before they launched a year ago when Kristy met up with Kristin to share her heart and seek wisdom. In celebration of their 1 year birthday, Apple Rose Beauty is partnering with Rethreaded for their “Five for Freedom” initiative. $5 from every full-size product you purchase from Apple Rose Beauty between July 6th and July 13th will be donated to Rethreaded. Just use discount code “5forFreedom” during checkout on their website!

Oh and July 7th happens to be Kristy’s birthday as well! Let’s show this wonderful company some love and support Rethreaded while you’re at it! You can use the “5forFreedom” code to purchase sample kits as well and 10% of proceeds will go directly to Rethreaded.

So if you need to stock up or if you’re intrigued and want to try their products for the first time, this is the week to do it. Head on over to their website at www.applerosebeauty.com and don’t forget to enter discount code “5forFreedom” during checkout.

Thank you for your support!
