Juneteenth Is A Day To Celebrate Freedom!

Juneteenth, or Freedom Day, is an American holiday celebrated annually on June 19. On June 19, 1865, in Galveston, Texas, the last remaining enslaved African-Americans in the Confederacy were freed. The following year, the first Juneteenth celebrations began. Since 1866, people have gathered all over the country in observance of Juneteenth. Celebrations involve festivals with educational events, food, music, and more with a mission to cultivate knowledge and appreciation of African American history and culture.

The path to true freedom requires all of us to stand together ensuring that our support is long-lasting and built on love, respect and community. We are so thankful for the black-owned businesses that support Rethreaded right here in Jacksonville, Florida, like MotionSweets and Apple Rose Beauty. We know the power of business and the many ways economic empowerment can change a life. Our mission is to change lives through business and we’d like you to stand with us and honor and support local black-owned businesses.
