The Five Career Paths at Rethreaded

Rethreaded offers viable and creative work to women affected by the sex trade, and provides survivors with an opportunity to be who they were created to be. Our employees are coming out of addiction, violence, human trafficking and prostitution. Options for these women are often very limited due to criminal records, little to no work history, and heavy prejudice within communities. Far too often survivors escape the bondage of the sex trade only to find they are unable to secure meaningful employment.
We are growing, and so are the career opportunities for survivor employees. We are proud to announce five career paths that allow these women’s talents and strengths to shine, so that they are able to go out into the world with marketable skills and experience.

1. Production

Don’t worry, we haven’t stopped sewing. Without our unique, handmade products Rethreaded could not function. Within our production department are several positions including Artisan Seamstress, Product Development , and Production Manager. Creativity, patience, and a keen eye for detail go a long way to help this team operate. Each employee has the opportunity to master various skills and ensures high quality product is created.

2. Inventory

Rethreaded is processing more inventory than ever before. The inventory department includes an Inventory Manager and an Inventory Assistant. They oversee the labeling, organization, and storage of products made on site, as well as products imported from our Freedom Partners. Responsibilities also include stocking the retail store, packing and unpacking home party boxes, and handling online orders.

3. Admin/Finance

This behind-the-scenes department is essential to our day-to-day operations. Employee schedules, calendars, and all financial records are handled by this team, as well as the disbursement and budgeting of funds.  Employees learn programs like Quickbooks, Excel, and Vend. This department includes Director of Finance and Admin and an Admin/Finance Assistant.

4. Sales

Our retail shop and online store aren’t the only places where you can buy Rethreaded product. We are popping up all over Jacksonville at different venues, events, and home parties. Our sales team includes women who are passionate about our mission and knowledgeable about our products. There is also the opportunity to hear a survivor share her story at select events and at home parties. Positions in sales include Sales Associate, Speaker, Home Party Lead, and Home Party Assistant.

5. Marketing

Marketing is the newest department open to survivor employees. The Marketing team is responsible for promoting Rethreaded through social media, website content, and ad campaigns. As awareness is raised in the community and perspectives change, hope begins to shine brighter for our current survivors and countless others on the path to freedom. Marketing positions include Director of Marketing and Marketing Assistant.
